The Wine Market

News

  • Search through news sources from around the world; includes newspapers that are local to the Charlottesville area
  • Start with a search for "wine trail"
  • Add or try additional search terms and/or use the filters under Limit results to to narrow the search
  • Must be connected to the Darden VPN when off Grounds
  • Broad variety of news sources including The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and the Washington Post
  • In the Industry field, search for Wine, then Tourism.  Click on the OR that appears between them to change it to AND
  • Add additional search criteria related to the topic you're researching and click Search
  • Add or remove search terms and criteria to broaden or narrow your search
  • Must be connected to the Darden VPN when off Grounds

Market and Consumer Research

  • Includes MarketLine Industry Wine Reports. By Country or Region
  • May also search individual content producers (i.e. Mordor, Grand View, etc.)
  • Market and consumer analysis with a particular focus on food and drink
  • Search for wineries in the main search box
  • Hover over Industries and select Alcoholic Drinks
    • Under Search Tree, select Wine under Choose category and click Go
  • Hover over Industries and select Travel.  Use the tools at the top of the page (Search Tree, Analysis Finder, etc) to search
  • Must be connected to the Darden VPN when using off Grounds

Research and Analysis

  • Scholarly articles, trade journals, magazines, and some newspapers related to the business disciplines
  • Some overlap with Hospitality and Tourism Complete
  • Search for terms related to the wine tourism industry to find articles.  Sample searches:
