Scholarly Publications: Creating and Maintaining a ResearchGate Profile

About this guide

ResearchGate is an "academic social network" that aims "to connect researchers and make it easy for them to share and access scientific output, knowledge, and expertise."  Although ResearchGate was primarily established for use by researchers in the physical and biological sciences, it has grown to include faculty, students, and researchers across all academic disciplines including faculty from most top business schools.  Establishing and maintaining a presence on ResearchGate is a way for Darden School of Business faculty to further promote their research.

If you are using a mobile device, you can also view a PDF version of this guide with screenshots.

  4. Fill out the next page with your name and Darden email address and select a password.

  5. ResearchGate will now suggest publications for you to add to your profile based on your name.  Click I am the author for any publications that belong to you, and This is not me for all others.
Depending on how many publications you have and how common your name is, you may have to wade through several researchers before reaching publications that are actually yours.  You can also choose to click Skip this step to add publications later.

Note: Please uncheck the box that's labeled Invite my co-authors to ResearchGate.
  6. On the next screen, select your disciplines by clicking on Economics and then selecting up to 9 areas of focus.  The Economics option should cover most disciplines present at Darden, but additional disciplines can also be selected if your research is interdisciplinary.
